Hazelborough Forest 3rd September 2017

I revisited this site again with great results capturing species. I tend to not pick the fruit bodies but instead use a mirror to capture the stipe and gills when I can without removing the sample. Until I can get trained in spore ID and microscopy then not much point in gathering for 100% ID. I've said before I don't believe all my findings are 100% accurate but I study each specimen thoroughly and with good photography you will be amazed what you can ID with experience and good ref books. I use Collins Fungi Guide and several other illustrated reference books to assist me. This time I travelled further into the site through mostly conifer plantations, but the Forestry Commission has left loads of dead wood around, so making my job easier.
