Fathinghoe Nature reserve, Northants 24th August 2017

This small BCNWT reserve near where I live produced some interesting specimens of fungi. Again arriving at the site in good time as it appeared the weather in this part of the country had woken up the fungi season early. I use a small Samsung handheld camera with a terrific close-up button, which provides a green square when in focus and I'm nearly touching the mushroom! I have seen many, many photographers wit lens being wrung and mini-tripods being erected and by the time they take the photo someone has plucked it out of the ground - "and there's another one for the basket Mary".  Here are a few finds:

Tricholoma virgatum

Polyporus durus

Lyophyllum decastes

Clavulina coralloides

Lepiota aspera on stump

Psilocybe semilanceata (known to help with depression)

Coprinus comatus

Chlorophyllum rhacodes

Macrotyphula juncea

Clitopilus prunulus
